Courses for students
How to join a course and work in it. Your teacher decides what the course contains and how the AI answers there.
Join a course
With a code
Open Courses in the menu and choose Join course. Enter the Join code you got from your teacher and confirm with Join course.
With a link
Open your teacher’s join link. You see the course and its content. If you are signed in, choose the button with your name, for example Join as Mia.
With an invitation
If your teacher invited you by email, open the link in the email and choose Accept. Your email address must be confirmed for this.
Joining does not work
Your teacher may have turned off joining by link and code, or the code is no longer valid. Ask for a new code or an invitation.
Join without an account
Open the link
Open the join link. You do not need an account.
Enter your name
Enter your First name. For the Last name the first letter is enough. Your teacher sees the name in the list of participants. Then choose Join course.
Keep your access code
The page then shows Your access code. Copy it with Copy code or write it down. Go to course opens the course.
Sign in again later
On another device or after signing out, open the join link again, choose I have an access code and enter the code. After Sign in you are back in the course.
Lost your code
The access code is shown only once. If you lost it, your teacher can usually create a new one. If you already have an account, choose I already have an account on the link’s page and sign in.
In the course
Under Courses you see all your courses with the next appointment. A course has these tabs:
- Overview: the sections with all their content and how much you have done. Pinned entries and the next appointment are at the top.
- Appointments: the upcoming and past appointments of the course.
- Shared content: all content as a list, with search and a filter by type.
- Settings: the course details and Leave course.
Work on content
Material
Files and videos open in the course, and you play an H5P quiz right on the page. If there is no preview, get the file with Download.
Worksheet
Open worksheet starts the worksheet. Your teacher sees your answers.
Feedback task
With Open task you work on the task and hand in your answer. The AI then gives you feedback.
Lesson series
You see the lessons of the series with their materials and tasks.
App
The app runs right on the page. Full screen shows it across the whole screen.
Link and note
Open link opens the web page. A note sits right in the section.
Mark as done
Done ticks an entry off. Worksheets and feedback tasks count as done once you have handed in your answer. A video is done when you have watched it to the end.
Hand in assignments
Read the instructions
Open the assignment. It shows the Instructions and, if there is a deadline, the date under Due.
Upload files
Choose Upload file. You can hand in up to 10 files, each at most 50 MB. After the deadline you can still hand in, but the submission is marked as late.
Change or withdraw
As long as your teacher has not returned the submission, Replace file uploads a new version and Withdraw removes the submission.
Read the feedback
Once your teacher returns the submission, you see the result, a grade and the feedback. If your teacher asks for a revision, upload the new version with Upload revision.
Use the AI in the course
As a student you use the AI in your courses. Open an entry of the type Chat or AI agent in the course. New chat starts a conversation, and Your chats lists the earlier ones. Your teacher does not see your chats.
How the AI answers
Your teacher decides. Often the AI gives hints and asks questions back instead of giving finished solutions. In some courses it answers only from the course material.
Messages per day
There is often a daily limit. The chat shows how many messages you have left today, for example 12 messages left today. You can write again the next day.
When the AI does not answer
Your teacher can switch the AI off, pause it for an exam or lock it until an assignment is due. If you joined through the join link, you can use the AI only if your teacher allows it. The chat then shows the reason and, if there is an end, until when.
Leave a course
Open the Settings tab in the course and choose Leave course. You can also use the course’s menu in the course list. You then lose access to its content. To join again you need the join code.
